Italy Traffic Fine Check

Private: nothing leaves your browser

Charged by an Italian car rental company after you returned the car? Check it, free.

Damage found after the return, a handling fee for a fine or a toll, fuel, extras: this check tells you what the charge is, which objective grounds your answers show, the dates that count for your card and the steps to dispute it in writing.

Rental charge check

Have the rental agreement, the pick-up and return reports and the charge notice at hand. It takes about two minutes.

What is the charge for?
The day your card was debited, or the date of the invoice.
How was it charged?
About the damage
The most you pay for damage, as written in the agreement. Leave empty if unknown.
An administration fee added on top of the repair cost, if any.

Nothing you type here is sent to us. The check runs in your browser and the result page reads it from your browser's page storage. We only count that a check was started and completed.

What this check looks at

What it does not do: it does not judge your personal situation, it does not promise an outcome, and it never suggests leaving an amount unpaid.

Frequent questions

Can the rental company charge my card after I returned the car?

Usually the agreement you signed allows later charges for damage, fines, tolls and fuel. That does not settle whether a single charge is owed: the company still has to show what the charge is for and how the amount was calculated, and unfair clauses do not bind consumers.

I got a refund from my bank. Is it over?

Not necessarily. A refund by the bank moves the money back; it does not decide who is right. The company can still claim the amount, debit the card again or pass the claim to a collection agency. Keep your written complaint and your evidence.

Is this the same as contesting the fine?

No. The fine comes from a city or the police and has its own rules and deadlines: use the fine check for that. This page is about what the rental company charged you.

Is this legal advice?

No. It is software that applies general rules to the dates you type. Nobody reads your case, and no lawyer is involved. For anything beyond these objective checks, contact a lawyer or your national European Consumer Centre.
